Brandy and Buddy Pinder’s love story began with a simple first date, a quiet certainty, and two young people who just knew they wanted to spend their lives together. Thirty-two years later, that same certainty led them to Brittland Manor, where they renewed their vows in a setting that reflected their enduring, unique love.
Brandy and Buddy’s Love Story
“Our first date was in March…Just three dates later, over dinner, he asked me to marry him—and I said yes. There was no grand proposal or elaborate plan. At the time, I thought he might be a little crazy … but here we are, 32 years later.

That very night, after dinner, we walked straight into a mall jewelry store and bought a ring. We were essentially two kids who had fallen in love without fully understanding what love truly was. We simply knew—without hesitation—that we wanted to be together.
Not long after, I found out I was pregnant. We planned to wait until after the baby was born to get married, but the further along I became, the more certain I was that I wanted to already be his wife. So we pulled together a wedding in just three weeks.
He wanted to get married on his birthday so he’d never forget our anniversary, but the church was already booked. The next available date was October 1, and that became our day. Even without his original plan, he has never once forgotten our anniversary.
We truly were kids. I was 17 and he was 18—my parents literally had to sign for us. Our road was the one less traveled, and time after time, we chose to do the hard work for each other. Seven months from our first date to our wedding day. A little unconventional, a little rushed, and completely ours. A love story that is, undeniably, one of a kind.”
The Contest That Made it Possible
More than three decades later, Brandy and Buddy never imagined they would have the opportunity to celebrate their love again in such a meaningful way. When Brittland Estates announced a contest giving one couple the opportunity to host a complimentary micro-wedding celebration at Brittland Manor, Brandy shared their story with the simple hope of the chance to celebrate their love once more.

Brittland Estates’ giveaway offered one couple a complimentary wedding or vow renewal for up to 50 guests. The couple was able to enjoy a December weekend at Brittland Manor, adored with holiday decor, while professional photography by Jessica Mooney, J Moon Photo, beautifully captured every meaningful moment
For Brandy and Buddy, the experience was more than a giveaway; it was a chance to finally honor their journey in a setting that felt as timeless and meaningful as the love they’ve built together.
“We definitely did not have a dream wedding and I have always wanted that,” Brandy shared. “To be able to share our love with our close friends and family at your spectacular venue was more than I could have hoped for.”
Living in Chestertown, Brandy had long admired Brittland Manor from afar. From the grand house to the breathtaking waterfront views, it was the storybook setting she had always imagined for saying “I do” again—yesterday, today, and always—to the love of her life.
Choosing Each Other, Again and Again
For Brandy and Buddy, renewing their vows at Brittland Manor was more than a celebration–it was a heartfelt expression of gratitude for a love that has carried them through every season of life. Surrounded by family and friends, their day served as a powerful reminder that the most meaningful marriages are not defined by how they begin, but by the love that endures long after.
